Jasper Groen specialises in maritime and shipping in the broadest sense for many years already. He works for a wide range of Rotterdam based clients, like freight forwarders, terminal operators and suppliers. Jasper also has a vast experience in international trade disputes (e.g. relating to transfer of title, liens, documentary credits, debt collection and attachments), both in litigation before the state courts, as well as in arbitration.
On the other hand Jasper has a special focus on the energy and renewables industry. He acts for oil majors and traders in this field, advises on offshore wind farms, and is involved in LNG, biofuels and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Jasper first joined the Shipping Department of NautaDutilh (1999-2005), before becoming a founding partner of Van Steenderen MainportLawyers. Jasper is a member of the Rotterdam Bar, the Dutch Transport Law Association, the Netherlands Association of Transport Lawyers and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). He lectures at the Netherlands Maritime University of the Shipping and Transport College (STC) in Rotterdam and at the STC-Korea, offering a Master in Shipping and Transport. Jasper is also a boardmember for the sail training vessel "Eendracht".
